For the very first time in a long and successful career, artist Aksel Studsgarth holds the exhibition “Roadtrip”, with works about vehicles and different modes of transportation in his signature comic drawings. Monday Studio is proud to invite you to this unique and exclusive pop-up exhibition : Grand release party march 17 2023
at Monday Studio, Matthæusgade 21, 1666 Copenhagen. Doors open at 16.00
Aksel loves vehicles, machinery and all that kind of stuff. Maybe not to work on, but to look at or to drive. So it turns up in a lot of his art, that there is suddenly a car or a spaceship and all these kind of cartoony tropes in a way. Simply said, he really enjoy drawing it.
"Originally, I trained as an industrial designer but I’ve been lucky enough to spend most of my working life in the animation and film industry, first as an artist and then as a manager. I still keep a foot in the door as an on-set VFX supervisor but otherwise I keep busy these days writing stories and drawing.
The stories often involve the fantastic and macabre. I blame the double bills they used to show in my local cinema as a teenager, which often consisted of a gory Asian martial arts film followed by some equally blood-soaked Hollywood horror movie."
